Correlation explorer

Any two local-authority series plotted against each other: one point per area, using each area’s latest published figure on each axis. Only areas where both series publish a figure are plotted; an area missing from either is left out, never treated as zero.

Correlation is not causation. A pattern here says two things vary together across areas — it cannot say one causes the other. Areas differ in population, age, geography and a thousand other ways no two series capture, and many pairs correlate only because both track a third thing.
