Description: Following a review of the Custodial Estate, a priority list detailing the Fire Safety Improvement Requirements) has been agreed with His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and Crown Premises Fire Safety Inspectorate. HMP Styal is a female adult and young offenders' prison with both an open and closed population. The MBU and Nightingale house blocks are not purpose-built prison accommodation and significant upgrades are required to the house blocks to rectify fire safety issues.
