What this doesn’t measure
Males, females, household or communal residents separately (published in the same table but not stored), or the mid-2011 population estimates.
Important caveat
Census 2011 counts usual residents on census day, 27 March 2011, as published by the ONS through Nomis. Figures are exact published counts after record swapping for disclosure control. Category labels are exactly as published in 2011 and differ in wording from 2021 (for example "Asian/Asian British" against "Asian, Asian British or Asian Welsh"; 2011 had no "White: Roma" and its not-stated category is "Religion not stated"). Cross-census comparisons must map categories explicitly and are never automatic. Nomis publishes 2011 tables on the 348 districts of 2011; each figure shown for one of today's 318 authorities is the published figure for that district where the boundary is unchanged, or the exact sum of the published figures for the 2011 districts that later merged into it (listed in the source row label), using the ONS 2011-to-2021 LSOA lookups to confirm every district lies wholly inside one authority.
