Police workforce open data table, England and Wales (Home Office)
The per-force officer figure is the sum of the FTE column over sex and rank for "Police Officer" rows - arithmetic over published rows, said so on every observation. The latest year's sums match the published Table H4 to the decimal (checked for 31 March 2026). The "[z]"-coded British Transport Police rows are skipped, mirroring the main workforce tables.
